American Greetings Plant Being Auctioned

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
American Greetings says it will auction the site of the greeting card plant it closed last year in McCrory. The company will also auction a closed card plant in Henderson, Kentucky. The McCrory plant includes a 771 thousand square-foot industrial building on more than 160 acres. McCrory Mayor Doyle Fowler says the city has a good workforce and that the city is offering incentives to the buyer. The Arkansas plant ceased operations in July 2003. Work was moved from McCrory to other American Greetings plants, including one in Osceola. Sealed bids on the properties are due from potential buyers by September 21st.
