Conway Restaurant Gets Liquor License

The state Alcohol Beverage Control Board overruled a decision by the ABC Commission`s director and voted to issue a liquor license to a downtown Conway restaurant organized as a private club. The board voted unanimously Wednesday to grant an application for Mike`s Place, a new steak and seafood restaurant. Mike Coats of Conway had submitted the application, which was denied last month by ABC director Robert Moore. Moore had cited local opposition to the permit. On Wednesday, additional petitions in favor of the license were presented to the board.
