The expansion of a Blytheville steel plant, for which county funding was recently approved, is expected to bring 40 new jobs for the area. The Mississippi County Quorum Court adopted a resolution yesterday to pay for part of the Prospect Steel Company expansion. The county`s money will go toward buying land. The company, based in Little Rock, has a 30 thousand square foot facility in Blytheville. The county decided to assist in the expansion to increase employment, said Court Judge Steve McGuire. The court also certified the company for benefits from sales and allowed the company to use tax refunds as provided by the Tax Back Program.
