Beware Of Hurricane Charley Scams

Arkansas` attorney general`s office says that, in the wake of Hurricane Charley, there could be a tidal wave
of people wanting to take advantage of your generosity. Attorney General Mike Beebe said today that, while Arkansans
should not hesitate to help victims of natural disasters, they should make sure that solications are coming from valid sources before giving away money.
The A.G.`s office says people should:
--be wary of emotional appeals,
--check out the charity with the Better Business Bureau,
--avoid pressure for on-the-spot donations,
--donate by check only to a named organization, not an
individual,
--ask how the donation will be used, and
--never give out a credit card number over the telephone.
