Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards will speak about the Kerry-Edwards campaign`s job-growth plan Tuesday morning at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. A spokesman for John Kerry`s presidential campaign in Arkansas said today that Edwards will appear at the school`s Baldor Technology Center at 11:30 AM after arriving from Atlanta. Rodney Shelton, Arkansas` Kerry-Edwards campaign director, said Edwards` second trip to the state in two weeks should clarify the campaign`s dedication to winning its six electoral votes. He said, quote -- "If you`re not being targeted you don`t get visits from the principals." Edwards appeared in North Little Rock and Brinkley on August Fourth. Shelton said Edwards` message is appropriate because Arkansas has lost 32,000 jobs and 400 positions are in jeopardy at the Whirlpool Corp. plant in Fort Smith, where refrigerator and ice maker production lines are being moved to Mexico and China.
