U.S. Mint Suspends Online Gold Collector Coin Sales

By: Newsroom Solutions
Updated: August 10, 2011
The online sale of gold collector coins is being suspended by the U.S. Mint.

Mint spokesman Mike White says it's the first time in recent memory that the sale of the coins has been suspended.

The suspension comes as gold prices continue to climb.

White says sales were halted so that the coins could be repriced.

Gold bullion coins sold to investors are being sold as usual.
