Kerry Says He`ll Fight For Arkansas Voters

Updated: January 7, 2009
Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe says John Kerry is serious about winning Arkansas and hasn`t given up on the state. McAuliffe would not say if television advertisements in support of the Massachusetts senator would run again in Arkansas. Kerry and independent groups working for his election in Arkansas haven`t aired advertisements since June. Advertising in support of President Bush on television continues. McAuliffe did say that the party plans to pour ground resources into the state, creating the most intense grassroots presidential campaign effort Arkansas has ever seen. Bush won Arkansas in 2000 by 5 percent over Democrat Al Gore.
