Since the beginning of last week, 120 people have voted in an election concerning library upgrades. The president of the Central Arkansas Library board says she expects those who voted are library supporters. The final day to vote is next Tuesday. If the proposal is passed, library bonds would be refinanced and paid for by extending property taxes. The 12.8 million dollars generated would pay for renovations, land and more materials, such as books. A group called the Coalition for Neighborhood Libraries has been campaigning for the election in neighborhoods. A yes vote in the election would, for example, put a 15 dollar tax on a house worth 75-thousand dollars.
