New Labor Laws affecting overtime

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
New labor laws which take effect the end of this month are affecting millions of American workers. Now anyone who makes less than $23,660 dollars no matter what the profession is entitled to time and a half for every hour over 40 hours worked. However, those making over that amount may be subject to new classifications. For example, registered nurses are now seen as white collar employees which means hospitals are not entitled to pay overtime.
