Arkansas Clemencies Higher Than Surrounding States

Governor Mike Huckabee is once again defending his policy for granting clemency, even with arkansas numbers far outweighing border states. Governor`s in those six surrounding states granted anywhere from 24 to 178 clemencies during the past eight years. Huckabee has granted more than 700, but says each case is weighted on its own merits. Pulaski County Prosecutor Larry Jegley says it`s wrong to let offenders free and against the will of the people.
