One of 19 suspects in a multistate
prostitution ring pleaded guilty Monday, the day his trial was
scheduled to start.
Twenty-five-year-old Kelvin Scott of Spencer, Oklahoma, pleaded
guilty to one of the four counts issued by a federal grand jury.
Authorities said the other three counts will be dismissed when
Scott is sentenced.
Scott said he had tricked a 13-year-old girl into working as a
prostitute in Texas by telling her she was getting in a car to "go
party."
He also faces other charges related to prostitution.
The FBI led an investigation into Oklahoma City-based pimps
trafficking young prostitutes to Texas, Arkansas, Colorado,
Florida, Pennsylvania and other states. The case led to nine
federal indictments and ten state warrants issued in May.
