What do Salt Lake City, Seattle and Anchorage, Alaska, all have in common?
They`re cities that Arkansas lawmakers have visited or plan on visiting this summer, and you`re paying for the trips.
Critics say it`s a waste of money, especially since some of the lawmakers are term-limited and will be out of office in a few months.
Represenative Jimmy Milligan, a term-limited lawmaker who went to Salt Lake City and plans to attend both meetings in Alaska, defends the trips. "There`s much to be gained," he says. "I don`t hang my head about going to any of these. They`re invaluable to find out what`s going on."
