Police recaptured an inmate early this morning who had escaped from a prison system work crew working at the Arkansas State University campus yesterday. Prison officials said Craighead County police found 23-year-old James T- Hall walking along the side of the road in Jonesboro at about two o`clock this morning. He had four months until he was eligible for parole. Hall had escaped by taking a black pickup truck that had the keys left in the ignition. He was serving two and a half years for second-degree battery and aggravated assault convictions from Craighead County and a theft of property charge from Poinsett County. Prison spokeswoman Dina Tyler said the work crew was based in Mississippi County and was cleaning a ditch on the Arkansas State campus, in Craighead County, when Hall escaped.
