USS Razorback On Its Way To North Little Rock

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Two barges are bringing the USS Razorback submarine up the Arkansas River from Rosedale, Mississippi, today. It`s the final leg of the submarine`s journey from Turkey to North Little Rock. Mayor Patrick Hays is traveling with the sub and said he expects that it will arrive in North Little Rock sometime tomorrow. The submarine is balanced between the two barges because it was drafting deeper into the river bed. Officials say the craft is high enough in the water now to make the trip up the river. The submarine will only be moved during daylight and will take about 36 hours of actual travel time. The submarine is to be docked on the banks of the Arkansas River to anchor a 15 million dollar museum.
