Arkansas Fishing Report: August 5-7

My hot spot of the week's gonna be Lake Dardanelle. The bass fishing's unbelievable. They're catching those fish in the grass up there with a swimming jig.
Lake Conway: still on fire. Brim are on their beds. Crickets, red worms: tearin' 'em up. You need to go up there if you need a good sackful of brim.
Swim jigs are this week's lure of the week. They have a little contour that help it go through the grass a whole lot easier. I'm not saying that a regular jig won't work. In fact, if you're out there on Lake Dardanelle and it starts to rain or it gets cloudy, the regular jig will work, but the swimming jig's going to be a lot easier.
Remember the Fish for the Fallen tournament slated for October 29. The night before, we'll have a big dinner with hot dogs courtesy of Bass Mafia Tackle plus hamburgers from Hogg's Meat Market plus buns and chips from WalMart Neighborhood Market.
You can pick up registration forms at Fish'N Stuff in either Sherwood or Greers Ferry plus Bass Mafia Tackle in Russellville.
Stay cool out there on the water.
