Tom Turkey Proves Elusive For Arkansans

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
More Arkansans will be heading to the supermarket to get their turkeys this Thanksgiving. The Game and Fish commission says the number of turkeys hunted this year fell 15% to 16,969. That`s a far cry from the all-time record of 19,947 turkeys caught in 2003. Officials blame the heavier-than-expected rainfall which disrupted the turkeys` nesting season. Commission officials are looking into changing next year`s hunting dates.
