Sheriff`s deputies say a 54 year old Traskwood woman is dead because of an upaid drug debt.
After about 6 hours of questioning, investigators arrested 50 year old Carlos Aguilar and his son, Charles, for the murder of Roberta Goforth.
They believe the men shot her on her couch after coming to her home on House Road seeking payment for some marijuana.
Deputies first learned there may be trouble at Goforth`s after her sister called them from out-of-state. She told dispatchers she`d been on the phone with her sister when she heard a commotion and the line went dead.
According to deputies Goforth and the Aguilars have had problems in the past. Last month the 54 year old was beaten badly at her home and she named the father and son team in the incident. A two-party warrant was issued for the Aguilars then, but it was never served. Many who live on House Road say Goforth was quiet and kept to herself. Others who did not want to be identified say they`d long suspected that her house was a drug house. One woman who called Goforth friend says she never saw any evidence of drugs with Goforth. "I just don`t know how anybody can take another human life," said Bonnie Jeffus.
