By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Officials say US 79 in south Arkansas is to be widened in places so that the two-lane highway will have passing lanes. The highway is getting improvements because it is part of the corridor for planned Interstate 69. The state highway department says construction to improve US 79 could start early in 2005. Officials say traffic has been increasing on the highway and the improvements are needed.
