South Arkansas Farmers May Get Help Because Of High Waters

Arkansas has asked the federal government to help farmers in four counties hit hard by excessive rain. Governor Huckabee sent a letter to US Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman seeking help for Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun and Drew counties. If Veneman declares the counties natural disaster areas, they would be eligible for federal aid. Contiguous counties could also receive federal funds.
