What`s Leaving Your House When You`re Gone?

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
When your hear the words vacation alert, you probably think of a cruise ship scam. But the Insurance Information Institute says when you`re headed out for vacation you need to be alert about the safety status of your home. That`s because summer is the time burglars go to work and more and more often they`re stealing identities along with property. Something as simple as leaving a file cabinet unlocked can be like throwing out the welcome mat for i.d. thieves. Your personal files contain credit card numbers, bank account numbers, medical information and tax records. All of that could be used against you. For more tips on what to secure before you leave for a trip check out the institute`s website. That address is wwww.iii.org.
