Updated: January 7, 2009
Tuesday, workers will begin moving more than 200 truckloads of Bill Clinton`s presidential records and materials to their permanent archival home. The reams of material will be moved to the Clinton Presidential Center from a warehouse about a mile away. The head of Clinton`s nonprofit foundation says the month-long trek will be a dress rehearsal for a crush of tourists he expects in about 135 days. Skip Rutherford is president of the Clinton Foundation and lead tourism promoter for the 165 (m) million dollar Clinton Presidential Center scheduled to open November 18th. "It`s a preview of how we`ll need to deal with the tour buses and school buses, so we need to get used to it." The total payload will be about 630 tons of documents, photographs and gifts, the largest collection in American presidential history.
