The National Transportation Safety Board is looking into a crash that killed a Virginia man Friday. Larry Sanders, 54, of Alexandria, Virginia, flew the Single Engine Piper PA-32 from Kentucky to Hot Springs. Officials say he lost contact with the tower and fell off the radar, crashing into the Indian Mountain in the Hot Springs National Park. Officials say it happened around 10:30a.m, although the NTSB received word of the crash late Friday afternoon. Sanders` body was recovered Friday evening. Steve Rudd, a ranger with Hot Springs National Park, says there were heavy rains and lightning storms in the area around the time of the crash. The NTSB says a preliminary report should be out in about five business days. A final report could take up to a year.
