Updated: January 7, 2009
A funeral is planned for tomorrow for a Des Arc man who died in an ATV accident over the weekend. Police say that 32-year-old David Gentry died when his four-wheeler slammed head-on into a three-wheeler driven by another man. The Prairie County Sheriff`s Department said the two men weren`t traveling together and that they were out late at night. Police said the three-wheeler did not have lights and they don`t know if the four-wheeler did. The other man, Frank Darby, was listed in critical condition at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences last night. Gentry was a volunteer fire fighter and his friends say his death was preventable. Gentry`s wife says her husband was well-loved in the community and that everybody called him "Big Dave." The couple have five-year-old daughter.
