A Van Buren man is dead after jumping onto a moving tractor-trailer in Fort Smith. 34 year old John Alan Zinc died yesterday after he tried to hop on a truck and lost his balance. The driver, Essie Argrow Junior of Stroud, Oklahoma told police that Zinc walked into the road and he had to swerve to avoid him. When he looked in his rearview mirror he saw, Zinc on the right side of the cab. He said Zinc was only on the steps for a moment before falling into the street. Argrow said he tried to stop right away, but Zinc had already fallen under the trailer and been run over. The Driver is not being blamed for the accident. Police say Zinc`s body smelled like alcohol, but further tests will be conducted to determine if alcohol was a factor.
