Terrance Johnson was sentenced to 44 years in prison tonight for the 2003 slaying of a former Watson Chapel High School football star. A Jefferson County Circuit Court jury returned a first-degree murder verdict this evening after deliberating about two and a half hours, and then returned to deliberations to consider a sentence for Johnson. Twenty-year-old Johnson was found guilty of killing 24-year-old Bobby Jett Junior. He was also sentenced to ten years each for charges of committing a terroristic act and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. The sentences will be served concurrently. Police say Jett was stopping at an intersection in his small car last October when a black mini-van pulled up and someone inside opened fire.
