The Democratic Party in Arkansas is soliciting members to sign up for a credit card that will help raise money for the party. State Democrats are having a special convention Saturday, where officials will urge members to sign up for the card. Funds will be earmarked to the party based on a point system in which the party will receive one dollar for every 100 points of charges. Also, the state party is to receive 45 dollars for every person it signs up for the program. Party officials plan to solicit thousands of Democratic loyalists in the state, beginning with the 500 expected to attend Saturday`s meeting to elect delegates to the Democratic National Convention. The party will also use direct mail and the party`s Web site.
