Oklahoma Man To Return To Arkansas To Face Murder Charges

An Oklahoma man being held in the deaths of two women who were fatally shot at a grave-marker business in De Queen. The suspect was taken into custody in Oklahoma following the crash of a car stolen in that state after the shootings in Arkansas. The bodies of 46-year-old Mona Lee Shelton and 45-year-old Donna Marie Cary, both from Gillham, were discovered late yesterday morning by a delivery driver who had gone to Cornerstone Monuments. In custody is 29-year-old Mickey David Thomas of Broken Bow. He was arrested around 5 p.m. yesterday when he crashed the stolen car on Highway 259 near its intersection with U.S. 70 outside Idabel, Oklahoma. Thomas is being held by the McCurtain County Sheriff`s Office, while authorities make arrangements to bring him back to Arkansas on two counts of murder. Arkansas State Police are helping De Queen police with the double homicide investigation.
