Former President Bill Clinton issued a joint statement through a spokesman in which he and his wife, New York Senator Hillary Clinton, mourned the passing of former President Ronald Reagan. They praised Reagan`s capacity to inspire and comfort. The statement said the two Clintons would always remember Reagan for the way he personified the indomitable optimism of the American people. And they said he would also be remembered for keeping America at the forefront of the fight for freedom for people everywhere. The Clintons said it is fitting that a piece of the Berlin Wall adorns the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington. The Clintons said they were sending prayers to the former president`s widow, Nancy, to their children and their many friends and family. A Clinton Presidential Library official says the library will mount a display at Little Rock honoring former President Ronald Reagan. Skip Rutherford, president of the Clinton Foundation that is building the library, said it was customary for other presidential libraries to take note of the passing of a former president. The Clinton library is scheduled to open in November on a site in Little Rock`s River Market area. Rutherford said that, since the library isn`t yet finished, the Reagan bereavement display will be in Curran Hall on East Capitol Avenue near downtown Little Rock. He said the exhibit will open at noon Monday. Included in the display will be a condolence book, that area residents can come by and sign. Rutherford said the book will be sent to the Reagan family at President Reagan`s presidential library."
