Nolan Richardson Trial Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
There was a pause in testimony by former Arkansas basketball coach Nolan Richardson to allow a former congressman to take the witness stand. Richardson is suing the university for discrimination over his 2002 firing. Today, former US Representative Jay Dickey testified that the coach was fired because of a number of comments he made. Dickey is a former University of Arkansas System trustee. The university has said Richardson was fired after he called to be bought out after a game against Kentucky. Dickey said race did not play a role in Richardson`s firing. Richardson returned to the stand after Dickey`s testimony. Richardson spent more than 20 minutes this morning reading from documents that have been entered into evidence.
