Updated: January 7, 2009
Tax forms show that the nonprofit foundation building Bill Clinton`s library nearly doubled the number of contributions it took in for the second year straight. I-R-S forms released yesterday show that the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation collected 44 and a half (m) million dollars in support from the public and earned another 350 thousand dollars from investments and sales. The foundation had seven point three (m) million dollars in expenses and increased its assets by 37 and a half million dollars entering the final year of library construction. The Clinton Presidential Center includes a five-story steel and glass museum, a four-story archives annex powered by rooftop solar panels, a graduate school housed in a renovated train station, a century-old pedestrian bridge and a 30-acre city park. The library and museum are scheduled to open November 18th with foreign dignitaries, President Bush and all living ex-presidents except the ailing Ronald Reagan expected to attend.
