One of the fallen soldiers from Arkansas` 39th Infantry Brigade is laid to rest this afternoon, 36-year old Captain Arthur "Bo" Felder. Family members say they remember him as a man who loved children, and a solider on the battlefield and in life. They called him Captain Felder, Mr. Felder and Brother Felder. But none of them could honor him better than the one who called him son. "Arthur was never a fighter, he was always a mediator," said his mother, Dr. Cheryl Stuart. She calls him her hero. In his death, it takes a big crowd to honor a man they say wasn`t big just in size, but also in heart. "Bo`s heart was as big as all outdoors," said Major General Don Morrow. "If Bo were here today, he`d be the life of the party, consoling everybody," Stuart said. Soldiers stood beside him, and the children he worked with walk behind him. "Bo paid the terrible price, but he felt it was necessary. He was called and he did his duty," said Gen. Morrow. All of them know the man they called Bo, died doing what he believed in. "Not only is freedom not free, it`s the most expensive thing in the world," said Morrow. Even in his absence, family and friends still know what he`d say. "And to the soldiers who`re here today, he`d tell you, Follow me!" said his mother to the crowd of soldiers at his funeral. Because Captain Felder`s family knew how much he loved working with children, they know how he loved working with children, they donated more than $1200 to the youth ministry at his church, St. Luke Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Other donations can be made there also.
