Woman Dies At State-Run Facility; Police Investigate

Arkansas State police are investigating the death of a local woman at a state-run facility. Police say 67-year old Mary Knight, who suffered from bipolar disorder and dementia, was run over at the Arkansas Health Center in Benton. She has just been dropped off at the Center, but sneaked out of the building and hid behind the vehicle, according to the Department of Human Services. Workers at the center thought Knight was inside the building. The family says Knight was neglected by health center workers. "Somehow she got to the back of the bus without anyone else being there so obviously it was a lack of supervision,." says Ex-Husband Lincoln Knight. Police took blood samples from both Knight and the driver as part of a routine investigation. Knight was laid to rest Saturday morning in Little Rock.
