State Legislator`s Trial To Begin In August

Already delayed more than a year, the
negligent homicide trial of state Representative Johnnie Bolin is
set to begin August 26th.
The court case was delayed through a legislative session and an
extra, special session this winter.
Bolin, of Crossett, faces three counts of negligent homicide in
the deaths of three stranded motorists on the median of an icy
Interstate 530 in February 2003. Police say the 60-year-old Bolin
lost control of his vehicle and it careened onto the median,
killing three people -- 23-year-old April Weeks of Star City,
25-year-old Shawn Albert Storz and 22-year-old Angela Brooke Storz,
both of Jefferson.
Negligent homicide is a Class A misdemeanor. If convicted,
Bolin could face up to a year in the county jail and a
$1,000 fine on each charge.
