Updated: January 7, 2009
First lady Janet Huckabee will be one of three 2004 inductees into the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says Janet Huckabee was one of the key figures in passing a conservation sales tax in 1996, when she and the governor led a four-day trip down the Arkansas River. The governor took a bass boat and the first lady rode a jet ski. She also has helped promote many Arkansas outdoor programs. Janet Huckabee, Ron Duncan of Springdale, and Larry Grisham of Jonesboro will be inducted at an October First banquet at the Statehouse Convention Center. Governor Huckabee was inducted in 2000. The commission, the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation and Ducks Unlimited sponsor the 12-year-old hall of fame.
