Car Dealer Swindles Drivers, Says Police

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Monticello Police are on the hunt for a car dealer they say swindled drivers. Ricky Funderburg, owner of Rick`s Auto Outlet in Monticello, purchased vehicles from wholesalers on the condition he would pay them and receive titles. He never did and the titles were never sent, says Monticello Police Lt. John Dement. More than 70 people, without titles to vehicles they already own, have already complained to police. Dement says Funderburg fled the area April 1 after leaving a note for his wife. He is wanted on five counts of theft by deception and one count of operating a criminal enterprise. Fundenburg`s name has been entered into a national criminal database. Anyone who purchased a car from his dealership is asked to contact Monticello Police.
