Updated: January 7, 2009
A Little Rock church fire sent smoke billowing into the sky and children running. The fire broke out at Perfecting New Life Church on Mabelvale Cutoff in Southwest Little Rock, which is also home to a daycare. At the time, 20 kids (ranging in age from 3 months to 9 years) were on church property. All made it out alive. One firefighter was sent to the hospital with a knee injury, but otherwise, there were no serious injuries. The official cause of the fire is still unknown, but the fire chief says a cooking-related accident may be to blame.
