It`s Public Health Week

Arkansas Department of Health Director Fay Boozman said the way to fight obesity and other health problems is to encourage a "culture of health." He says children must be taught how to stay healthy, employers should sponsor health programs for their workers, and communities should create coalitions for better health. Boozman and other health professionals kicked off the Arkansas Public Health Week today at the state Capitol. Events will include lectures and the dedication Wednesday of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Public Health building. Boozman says health problems related to a person`s individual habits are more difficult to deal to deal with because the government can`t regulate human behavior like it can water and air quality.
