Clark County Taxpayers Told To Ignore First Property Tax Bill

Clark County taxpayers got some improbable
good news to counter their property tax bills -- they don`t have to
pay them.
After going through the taxpayers alphabetically to the S`s and
sending out 25,000 bills, Clark County Collector Troy Tucker
discovered that a computer glitch had led to billing errors.
So, the county stopped billing and is now asking those who have
received bills to ignore them -- for now.
A new, more modern software system is apparently responsible for
the errors, but the computer programmer says he will pay thousands
of dollars to fix them.
When the problems are corrected, Clark County will send out new
bills and ask the taxpayers to pay -- this time for real.
