Workers on the streetcar line that will connect Little Rock and North Little Rock plan to reopen a key bridge across the Arkansas River this week. Officials say they will meet their target for reopening the bridge within 30 days. Construction crews closed the bridge March first to install track along the Main Street Bridge. The span is to reopen after the Wednesday morning rush hour. A 2.5 mile rail route through the downtowns of both cities is expected to open in the fall. Construction costs will run about $19.5 million.
