Consolidation Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Forty-eight of the 57 school districts ordered to consolidate with or annex into other districts have made their decisions. At least two of them -- Delaplaine and Huttig -- don`t plan to submit voluntary agreements and will let the state choose a partner for them. The others remaining undecided are Carthage, Holly Grove, Lake View, Sparkman, Swifton, Winslow, and Umpire. All 57 districts have until next Thursday to submit their plans to the state Education Department. The plans are to go into effect July First. Posted by Mike Hellgren
