Entergy To Begin Charging Late Fees

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Entergy Arkansas said today it will begin charging late fees on electric bills but will also be giving customers a longer grace period to pay. By late summer -- when electric bills are at their highest -- Entergy will give customers 22 days to pay their bills, up from the current 14 days. Customers who can`t pay on time will be charged three dollars on the first thirty dollars due, plus two percent of any amount over thirty dollars. The company also said today it has worked out a kink in its system that last year mailed bills to some customers on or after the date they were due. Entergy provides electric power to about 650,000 customers in 63 counties in Arkansas.
