Arkansas Republican`s support of President`s Bush`s re-election bid is official. GOP leaders endorsed Bush for a second term yesterday, praising his administration`s policies and criticizing the presumptive Democratic nominee, John Kerry. Senator Gilbert Baker of Conway, the Senate GOP leader, says Bush will continue to provide steady leadership during a time the nation faces challenges. Baker also praised the president`s tax cuts and said the country is on the cusp of a strong economic recovery because of Bush`s policies. Ron Oliver, chairman of the Democratic Party of Arkansas, says the Republican assertions about economic recovery are a joke. Bush won Arkansas over Democrat Al Gore in 2000.
