Six podiatrists in the Texarkana area have been arrested in a Medicaid fraud investigation. The Texas attorney general`s office says the 134-count federal indictment was returned February 19th and unsealed today. The indictment names podiatrists James Naples, Frederick Day, Glenn Feeback, Philip Hahn, Gregg Petty and John White. Also charged are associates Linda Velvin, Cynthia Capps and Shannon Richardson. All have ties to New Boston General Hospital. The charges include conspiracy to operate a racketeer-influenced and corrupt organization, or RICO, aiding and abetting, obstructing justice, destruction of records, bribery and perjury. Investigators say the scheme was meant to bill Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare for foot treatments not ordered or supervised by licensed podiatrists. Officials also are working to seize property in New Boston, Texarkana and El Dorado, Arkansas. Posted by Mike Hellgren
