Health officials say an England High School art teacher who died Tuesday from meningitis was not contagious to the school or community. Forty-nine-year-old Rick Gravette died from a type of bacterial meningitis that would not affect people he had casual contact with -- including students. That`s from Doctor David Bourne of the Arkansas Health Department. Bourne says the case was isolated. England High School Principal Matt McClure said the school has brought in several counselors. McClure said Gravette, who taught about 80 students in high school and middle school, was known for helping pupils enter state contests and that he will be missed.
