Playground Death In Hughes

Updated: January 7, 2009
St Francis County officials say an eight-year-old boy in Hughes has died in a playground accident. The boy, Kevin Jamal Woods, was hanged when his shirt caught on a swing hook. Investigator Glenn Ramsey says the swings had been removed from an A-frame that had been damaged. But children would walk along the beam, and it appears Kevin slipped and his shirt caught on the hook. Ramsey says no one saw the boy slip. Two playmates found him and sought help but Kevin was dead when he was brought to a hospital. Ramsey says the investigation is continuing into the Saturday accident.
