Tennessee police are trying to
determine if two women killed more than two years ago are victims
of a suspected serial killer in Oklahoma and other states.
The murders of ten women in Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi and
Oklahoma are believed to be the work of one person. Oklahoma State
Bureau of Investigation officials say the killer may be a long-haul
truck driver.
The women were mostly drug users or prostitutes and were found
nude or nearly naked. Six have been found in Oklahoma and one found
in Texas was from Oklahoma.
The bodies of the Tennessee women were found in October 2001 in
a wooded, deserted area, wearing nothing but shoes. The two were
last seen at a bar popular among truckers and police are trying to
determine if they should be added to the list.
Police from across the South are to meet in Oklahoma City next
week to compare notes.
