Governor Pardons Former Attorney General

Governor Huckabee has made final a pardon
for former Arkansas Attorney General Steve Clark.
The pardon restores all of Clark`s rights and will allow him to
teach law in Texas, where he now lives.
Last month, Huckabee announced his intention to pardon Clark for
his felony theft conviction. Huckabee made the pardon final after a
30 day comment period.
The governor said Clark has suffered humiliation, bankruptcy and
criminal penalties since being convicted in 1990 for padding his
state expense account.
Clark, who lives in Austin, passed the Texas bar in June 2000
and is currently an adjunct teacher at a Houston school.
