North Little Rock`s city attorney says the city`s bars can legally stay open later. Paul Suskie gave the opinion to the City Council, which is considering extending legal hours for selling alcohol -- from 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM weeknights and from midnight Saturday to 1:00 AM on Sunday mornings. The council will consider the change at its next meeting -- February 23rd. Downtown bars are already allowed to stay open until the later hour, but they must stop serving alcohol at 1:00 AM on weeknights and midnight on Saturdays.
