Fitness Challenge Promotes Healthy Habits

Arkansas Blue Cross-Blue Shield and the Arkansas Department of Health are battling each other and the state`s low national fitness ranking in a three-month Fitness Challenge. Health Department Director Fay Boozman says a ranking of 47th is NOT something to be proud of. The Health Department and Blue Cross-Blue Shield have a combined five thousand employees who are asked to exercise 30 minutes a day at least three times per week to gain points for their team. Governor Huckabee says the team with the most points wins bragging rights and most importantly, better health. Sharon Allen, president of Arkansas Blue Cross-Blue Shield, says she hopes employees will start down the road to better health. Posted by Mike Hellgren
