Authorities in Hot Springs have charged a man with capital murder in the death of a 15-month-old boy. Twenty-three-year-old Sean A. Michaud of Hot Springs was initially charged with first-degree battery but the charge was upgraded Tuesday after the baby died. Authorities were called February fifth to a residence, where the baby`s mother was holding the unresponsive baby Ashton O. Bass. The baby died Friday. An autopsy revealed the death was caused by head and neck trauma. Prosecutors yesterday upgraded the count against Michaud to capital murder. Sheriff`s Captain Larry Sanders says that NO charges are anticipated against the mother.
